On 8th February 2024, the Special Envoy of the Sovereign Order of Malta for the New Forms of Exclusion Sergio Rodríguez López-Ros participated in the presentation of the book “Thinking Creation” by physicist David Jou, held at MareNostrum 5, Europe’s first quantum supercomputer and and one of the seven supercomputers of the European infrastructure PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe).

The event highlighted the enormous possibilities that quantum physics opens up in dialogue of Christian faith with scientific method, emphasizing that more than ever science opens itself to faith by explaining the universe in a way that is not mechanistic but rather based on uncertainty. It was also underlined the key role of ethics in artificial intelligence to develop autonomous systems at the service of the most vulnerable people and the construction of a better world.
