The Special Envoy participated on 27 February in the first International Hackathon for Vulnerable Groups. More than 300 hackers from all over the world worked for two days onsite and online on more than 20 real challenges for vulnerable groups. It was an event organised by The Observatory of the Social and Ethical Impact of Artificial Intelligence (OdiseIA) with the support of Google.org Foundation and chaired by H.M. King Felipe VI of Spain. The event ended with a Call of an AI for the Common Good, which will impact on AI ethicists, regulators, technicists, economists and users.
Envoy Rodríguez moderated a round table with Pablo Zoido, from the Inter-American Development Bank, Virginia Carcedo, from the ONCE Foundation, and Dr Rafael de Asís, from the Rey Carlos III University of Madrid. There were also various vulnerable groups. The Envoy was able to present the experiences carried out by the Sovereign Order, as well as the values that should be fundamental to an AI aimed at the common good.
