On 25th June 2024, the Special Envoy Sergio Rodríguez López-Ros participated in the presentation of the International Chair on Generative Artificial Intelligence with an intervention on social and health dimension, and common good, of GenAI. The event took place in CEU Universities with the participation of Deloitte (Spain), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (United States) and Global AI Ethics Institute (France), among others. He also thanked Dr Idoia Salazar for her leadership in the AI4Good Guide to Principles and Practices carried out in collaboration with this Special Diplomatic Mission.
The Special Envoy warned about the need to adapt through education and regulation, such as the recent European Union Artificial Intelligence Regulation, to “know how to make good use of GenAI, which can falsify reality for the first time in history, but also improve our present if used responsibly”. Through this Chair, comprehensive and realistic research will be conducted on the challenges and risks of Generative AI, creating a suite for explainability and interpretability of Generative AI, through which the concepts learned by content generation systems can be monitored.
