The Special Envoy of the Sovereign Order of Malta for New Forms of Exclusion participated on 20 February 2024 in a summit of the European Institute of Mediterranean (IEMed). Specifically, he shared a round table on the topic “Ethical and regulatory challenges of AI in the Euro-Mediterranean space” with Dr Idoia Salazar, president of OdiseIA, and Dr Miguel Ángel Medina, professor at the UAO and UNIR. The Special Envoy highlighted the need to reach moral consensus on AI prior to its regulation, especially from the respect for the values ​​that shape the different members of the international community. “The centrality of people, especially the most vulnerable, must prevail in the development of systems,” stated.
