Some members of the Digital Inclusion Corps, promoted by the Special Envoy of the Sovereign Order of Malta for New Forms of Exclusion, participated in the Order of Malta 67th International Pilgrimage to Lourdes.
The group of volunteers of the Corps, which have been prepared hard for months, wanted to have also the field experience in the core of the mission of the Sovereign Order of Malta that is to serve directly our lords the sick people.
Their profile is formed by young people at university level, ready to ensure that all sectors of society can benefit from the opportunities offered by technology and the digital environment, to contribute to the development of educational tools, provide specialized training to promote digital inclusion at international level.
It was an extraordinary experience, deeply spiritual and profoundly Marian, where we witnessed and shared the essence of the Order’s mission: to serve with humility, compassion, and joy. The atmosphere in Lourdes was filled with prayer, fraternity, and a shared sense of purpose that transcended languages and borders.
They felt themselves privileged by spending time with the Prelate of the Order and, in a concrete moment, they were present during the visit of the Grand Master to the Spanish Assembly at the Accueil, expressing him their gratitude for his leadership and presence in Lourdes.
Despite some moments of rain, their spirits were high and their hearts were full. The pilgrimage was a time of happiness, reflection and service. It was a unique opportunity for them, which left a lasting impression on all of us, to strengthen bonds with national associations.
It was also a valuable occasion to share the vision of the Digital Corps with members and volunteers who showed genuine interest in the initiative and were eager to listen and engage, anchored in the Order’s fundamental values.
The pilgrimage to Lourdes not only reaffirmed their commitment to the mission of the Order but also inspired them to continue building bridges between tradition and innovation, faith and service, through the Digital Corps and beyond.
