On 27 September 2024, a working team from the Special Diplomatic Mission, composed of volunteers with expertise in the digital field, gathered the Digital Corps Project. This initiative aims to contribute to the development of educational tools, provide specialized training to promote digital inclusion at an international level.<\/p>\n
Digital Corps is a response to the growing need to bridge the digital divide, which disproportionately affects vulnerable groups such as the youngsters, elderly, people with disabilities, low-income individuals and other disadvantaged groups. The project focuses on the creation of adapted educational materials, the organization of digital training sessions and the implementation of concrete actions to reduce technological exclusion, pooling the digital talent to serve Our Lords who suffer.<\/p>\n
This first meeting in Barcelona was a fundamental starting point to coordinate the team\u2019s efforts and establish the operational foundations of the project. The young participants demonstrated a strong commitment to the humanitarian mission of the Sovereign Order, working to ensure that all sectors of society can benefit from the opportunities offered by technology and the digital environment. To sum up, a human technology to the service of vulnerable people to reduce inequalities.<\/p>\n

The Grand Master in New York, during the Summit of the Future, last 23 september 2024, “technology and scientific innovation, in particular artificial intelligence, can bring substantial improvements and progress for humanity, but the international community should never lose sight of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged groups, to which the Sovereign Order of Malta traditionally dedicates its humanitarian activities”.<\/p>\n
The Digital Corps project aims to be a reference in the fight against digital exclusion at an international level, bringing knowledge and technology to those who need it most.
